Once
on a farm lived an 11 year old girl. Her parents named her
Kristina. Kristina
was always busy doing her chores. Clean the cow's pen
feed the pigs and chickens, and the rest of the farm animals. She was never
mad about those chores because she loved being around the animals.
Now
Kristina is 22 years old. Her father said "Kristina, You're 22
years old and you need a job." Kristina said "What job should I
do?"
Kristina's
Dad said "you are the only one who can pick your own job. So
Kristina looked in
the want ads in the
newspaper. A few jobs in the ads
were; teacher, painter, another
librarian or a sales person. Kristina thought about all the jobs, but she
thought none of them were quite right.
Then
one day, Kristina was talking with her Dad and she said, "Mom, Dad
I've looked in all the ads that came out, and none of them are my type."
"Well"' said her father, "just keep looking."
Sunday a new ad came out and this
time there was only one job, so she
thought she would try it out. It was for
a Vet. So she called in to make
plans to try out for the job. The next morning she went to the Vet's office.
On Monday, the Vet's office called and
told her you got the job! You start
on Thursday. So on Wednesday, she shopped for outfits to wear,
and gear.
The
next day at 7:00am, Kristina woke up and got ready. At 7:30,
Kristina leaped
into her car to go to work. When Kristina got to the office,
patients were already there. Kristina
was surprised, so she set off to her
room. About 2 minutes later, a patient
came in, it was a hamster named
Peanut. Peanut's problem was that he
wouldn't eat his food. First Kristina
weighed Peanut, then she gave him a
little shot. Kristina asked the owner if
Peanut ate solid food. The owner said
yes, so she gave a liquid medicine to
Peanut and said to give him 1 more in
the afternoon and 1 in the morning, and
if he will not eat,
make sure to bring
him back to the Vet's.
This
time, Kristina had to travel to a farm, because a cow was going to
have a calf. So
Kristina got on gloves, and put on her gear. Then she went
to the Mom cow. Kristina was trying to
show the cow that she was

going to
help. About half an hour later the calf
was born.
Kristina helped the
calf
stand up, then checked it's weight.
Kristina
loved her job, and she saved a few animals lives. And that was
Kristina's life.
Kristina is a real 11 year old girl in Indiana. Maybe she will be a Vet some
day.
