I can't really rate this show.
Ok, so this is not the kind of show I would usually watch. I don't know why I am reviewing it. Let me just say that this show is absolutely vapid. To summarize the plot:
The series follows 12 women of various backgrounds, shapes and
sizes, who will live together in a New York loft and vie for a modeling
contract. The variety in shapes and sizes is limited to 5'7" and taller, and
size 2 or smaller.
The contestants face weekly tests that determine who moves on or gets cut.
Now for the really exciting part, supermodel Tyra Banks mentors the women
through their exposure to "high-profile" fashion industry gurus. Sort of a
"boot camp" for supermodels.
The best part is the panel of judges. Banks leads this group, which
includes fashion industry people, so we are told, including the first supermodel
Janice Dickinson. I don't know any of these people, but they are all so
self-important and sure they have an opinion everyone needs to hear, it's
amazing.
I honestly have no idea why any person would subject herself to being judged solely on appearance and her ability to sell her appearance, so this show makes no sense to me. The women seem to be fairly intelligent, and I can appreciate a drive to succeed in your chosen profession, I just don't understand this profession or why it is important. But I have watched the show on occasion, and wanted to share it with everyone. No pictures though. That would defeat the point of this review.
