Here
is a story of Saturday night, May 5th and our Experience at Bon Jovi...
Chrissy, Dawn, Nikki, Coleen, Kelly, and our friend Jen all went to Bon Jovi at the Gund Arena on Saturday night, May 5th. After some pizza, a few drinks, and a couple of games of "Outburst" We all boarded a cab and headed downtown. We were ready to party like rock stars, or Kempers (whichever lasted longer). Our first stop was at "Fat Fish Blue", where we could hang with fellow Bon Jovi fans and watch the truly dedicated make fools of themselves singing "She's a Little Runaway" on the Karoke machine. Ahhhh, a night made in 80's Rock Heaven! We soon headed to another local hang out known as the "Dirty Dog". Now this was one classy place.
Bartenders
with ripped up shirts on, Christmas lights hanging from the wall, all the patio
furniture your little heart desired. This place was paradise. The only thing
that made it better was the tall drafts that cooled our pipes. Three hours had
passed at this point, so we were feeling pretty good. AND WE WERE READY TO ROCK!
The concert
was great. He played all of the greatest hits, and even some of his not so
great. Dawn even showed a little rebellious side when she whipped out three wine
coolers from her purse. (I'm sure Kelly was an influence in this) It was like
11th grade all over again. Nikki
was a little hot, but thanks to some quick thinking, she was cool in no time.
Our seats were very very close to the stage! OK, I'm exaggerating - We were
basically hanging from the rafters. A good time was had by all.
After the concert we headed to another place to hang out. We were ready to get our groove on. We danced for a little while, but our old age was catching up with us and we were all running out of gas. All except for Nikki and Coleen. Somehow they were misled into thinking they were on Soul Train. ( A common mistake I'm told.) It was definitely time to head home. Our cab driver was a reincarnated Janis Joplin by the name of Elizabeth. Ahhh, what a gal. As we drifted off to sleep that night we all had one thought in our head: LONG LIVE BON JOVI!! Happy 80's to all and to all a good night!!!
