EXCELLENT SHOW!!!
This year, shortly before Christmas, Paul and I went to see Los Straitjackets at the Beachland in Cleveland. The words great, excellent, and fun describe the show quite well. Los Straitjackets play surf music. Their songs are all 2 - 3 minutes long, and these guys can play. There is no waiting, just song after song.
The stage show is as different as their sound. The band
members wear masks, like old-time wrestlers. You can buy a mask to match
one of theirs if you like! And because this was a Christmas pageant, a
festive music and dance extravaganza,
they had the
World Famous Pontani Sisters’ with them. The Pontani Sisters' have a
burlesque/go-go show with original costumes, like Christmas tree hats and Santa
suits. They dance, high kick , and stage fake snow ball fights to Los
Straitjackets surf Christmas songs like Here Comes Santa Claus and
Sleigh Ride. They also play the best version of Little Drummer
Boy ever! Think Little Drummer Boy, Sing Sing Sing, and surf music,
and you'll begin to get an idea of what it sounds like. In addition to
Christmas songs, Los Straitjackets played a few from their
newest CD, Supersonic Guitars in 3-D.
Either way, you can't loose.
