I don’t wear perfume anymore I wear fruit. Not to be confused with eating fruit, I don’t eat fruit, I wear it. I’ve been raspberry, apple, and blueberry. One time I was even a grapefruit ( and that’s not easy to do.)
Many stores have become fruit too. When you walk into these stores your senses (especially smell) are attached from all sides. As you walk through the store cinnamon fills your nose and radiates into the sinus cavity. (This can cause a headache for those with allergies).
As we continue through the store we savor the wave of Strawberry and cream that moves in as the cinnamon moves away from us. About this time hunger aches. Your stomach begins to grumble and your tongue imagines strawberry and cream sliding down your throat. This is the time to ask the store clerk if their is a restaurant near by. “Yes, right next door,” she says as her cherry berry rises to my nose. “My dad owns it,” she says with a smile. I wonder if they planned it this way
and I decide that they did. Why couldn’t I be that ingenious?
It occurs to me that if I had a child that didn’t want to eat I would utilize the scenes
available to me. For instance, I would buy chocolate body spray and spray it on their arms (hopefully it would be clear alcohol free, water based and colorless). Actually I think the best scent would be peanut butter and jelly since that seems to be
the favorite of many young people. Cotton Candy would be a great one. How about Snap, Crackle, Pop and bananas? ( This one would even stimulate the ears.)
We could stimulate our minds too. I would like a natural body mist that smells like Idora Park french fry. (grease, salt & vinegar.) This would make my mind linger on my childhood and adolescence. Well I thought it might be a good idea, but maybe no.
While considering the way life is today I figure it’s only a matter of time and we will be able to smell like tomatoes, broccoli, or carrots. Today we have a drink called carrots.
Can you imagine how astounding it would be for our forefathers to be able to drink carrots?
They spent days plowing the field, toiling from dawn until dusk. Planting, weeding, watering until their bodies ached so they could have food on their tables. Now we go to the store and spend good money on something to make us smell like our food. Does
this make sense???
Whatever!
