Princess Mononoke

Set during the Muromachi Period (1333-1568) of Japan, Mononoke Hime is a story about a mystic fight between the Animal Gods of the forest and humans.

On the side of the Animal Gods is San (Mononoke Hime), a human girl raised by the wolf god Moro. On the side of the humans is Lady Eboshi, building a kingdom for oppressed people by cutting down the forest for her iron-making operation.

In the middle of this fierce fighting for survival, Ashitaka, an Emishi boy, struggles to find a way for both sides to co-exist. But the fighting just becomes more and more bloody and all hope seems to be lost...

Princess Mononoke is the best movie I've ever seen. It did a great job with character developments, animation, dialogue and the English dubb stayed soooooooo close to the original text I was amazed. I think it did get kind of gross in some parts but hey, it's a PG-13 movie so I'm OK with it. The plot is very good. The way the movie stayed with the myth it's is based on is very good. The voice actors in English and Japanese were very good, and yes the dubbed version did not butcher the original script and actually used the original dialogue from the Japanese movie, so both the dubb and the original should be watched. Also the tree spirits in the movie are soooooooo cute. Defiantly see this movie.
